Dash Replacement
Ok guys it's time for me to clean up the inside of my car. The dash needs replacing or recovering and wanted to know what you guys did. I looked at the $650.00 replacement from performance products and frankly it looks like to $60.00 I can use to get me by....... What and who have you guys used to redo your dash?I am in So cal.... Mine is a 69. Thomas Auto Trim in San Diego will recover it but I was looking for someone closer. Other guys say it can't be recovered........ Thanks, Mark

Look into a dash cover. They are less than $100.00 & I have seen some that look great. I looked at a $12,000 912 with a dash cover that looked quite original . Of course for $12,000, I'd expect the original, but the dash cover was unnoticable. Haven't a clue who made this particular one, but a web search will turn up lots of manufacturers.

I agree, the dash covers for '69 and later cars look great, you can barely tell they aren't original. It's us poor guys with pre '69 cars who have to spend all the money on Dashes.
