Emergency Brake wire ?!
I'm currently refurbing my interior and replacing pans in my 1967 912 Targa.
After pulling out the entire interior, I found a single electrical wire coming from the emergency brake area. It was cut in half (fortunately, I found both halves and will be able to repair it with light solder and heat shrink tubing). Does anyone know what that wire does? I haven't seen reference in any of my literature. |

Does the indicator light in the dash work for you parking brake?
That could be the wire because there is a switch at the back of the brake lever. Is the wire brown and white I think that is number 37 on the wiring diagram. |

This should be the e-break light wire. The switch grounds the wire and the light indicates that your e-break is on, the switch should have a ground tab on it, you should be able to ground the wire and test it.
