Remove glue

Hi All,
I've stripped out the old carpet and water-retaining felt from the entire interior (took about 3 hours with the help of my 14 yr. old son). Anyone have a recommendation for the best solvent for removing the residual glue?

Thanks.
Bill

Another fellow here in Austin told me he used a heat gun and scraper to loosen it and remove the glue.

The heat gun and scraper sounds like a lot of work and electricity, but it has some advantages. Of course my father-in-law said he'd use gasoline! I was thinking something more stable and less dangerous, like a liquid tar remover. Thanks for the hint.

Hi Folks,
I was reading about solvents that dry without leaving a residue. Anyone know of, or can recommend something for my 912 petro-based glue?

Thanks,
Bill
