Hi Folks,
I have purchased the Mastreo's engine book and the Guide to Authenticity. Now all I need is a reasonably good shop manual so I can dismantle some of the various systems like electrical, fuel, and braking without moving ahead totally in the dark and on my own. What do you recommend for a shop manual and where I might find one? Thanks, Bill |

Bill,
Most of the part sellers have manuals, this site and elsewhere, the good one, I think is the original Porsche Shop Manual, the ring binder one. In the online stores you can pay several hundred dollars for a complete set. I bought a complete set on eBay for $100.00, you might do a search there. Also I purchased a PET, CD . The PET is the digital manual used for ordering parts, viewing parts, etc. for Porsche shops. It has exploded views of everything.......and part numbers to go along. It is a great research tool, it does require a PC format and a monitor with 1280x1024 resolution. I have the guy's e-mail if your interested. Good luck and Happy motoring, Chas. |

I would highly recommend the Porsche 912 Handbook and you can get it at Pelican Parts. Heres the link http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/BOOK/POR_BOOK_bkptec_pg2.htm#item18 (Its the 912 Shop Manual)

Hi Josh,
I saw this book in their online catalog, I just didn't want to buy it without seeing it first or hearing some opinons. Thanks, I'll look into it. I've also recently ordered a CD with complete parts diagrams and numbers, so a shop manual with the CD should be about all I need. For starters.............. Thanks for sharing your insight.
