1966 912 Emblem Placement

Hi,
I recently acquired 1966 912 with with the front badge holes filled and painted over & the rear PORSCHE badge holes filled and painted over. I was unable to find the original holes on the underside and don't feel comfortable "eying" it from photos.

Can anyone help with the exact measurements. (maybe mm/inches from the front edge of the hood to the bottom of the crest & mm/inches from the bottom of the deck lid to the bottom of the Porsche emblem?)

Thanks, much appreciated

Get in touch with Darryl, I'm sure he has the dimensions hidden away somewhere here:

912 Emblem

Thanks, Scott (his website holds a wealth of information, even a close up pick of the 4 holes i am trying to measure)

I could not find any contact info for Darryl, do you know how to contact him?

I don't have an email addy for him.
He used to hang out a bit on the 912bbs, but since finishing his 912 and moving into his new digs he hasn't been around as much of late.
I'll take a look and see if I have the info. I used to as my brother needed it to put the emblems back on my old car.

Do you know if you have an early car which would have had the slant script 912 and different "PORSCHE" location or the later version?

Not sure these will help but they might get you started. Again hooking over the bottom edge of the hood

placement

Here's a picture of my old '66.
I think if you center the emblem and use JT's measurements you'll be good to go.
