				ball joints
			 
			Hey Guys, My question is this.I have a 69 912 and I am changing the front ball joints and am having trouble getting them out.Due to rust and road junk they are stuck.Any suggestions. Can I apply heat an if so what would that do to the control arm. Thanks | ||

			the porsche tool is a little pricey. i made one, but lent it out and didn't get it back. then i needed it to help someone on an '83 sc. i'm pretty sure it uses the same tool. anyway, i found a tool at advance auto(formerly discount auto parts) i believe it is a ford tool, but not sure. the part # on the tool is T72044 (CR-V below the part #) made by Am-Pro. use it with and impact gun. | ||

			The spcial tool is needed to put them back but my experiece is thatthe ball joints are so badly corroded the castle nut doesn't undo and has to be cut. Even heat doesn't work well and we use a plasma cutter as being the easiest method. | ||
