68 model door panel.....anyone have RS over original

My 1968 912 should be out of paint in the next two weeks so I'm getting my interior ready. I have the original door panels but they are in need of some repair.

Does anyone have the RS panels on their 912? How do they look, if you have a picture please post one.

Thanks for any information.....or, if anyone has a source for the 68 panels please let me know.

Regards,

Mally

I have them. Very clean.

Hold on to the originals though...

Thanks for the photo,

I will definitely be holding onto the originals. I found a RS style that has a map pocket and looks pretty good.....$329 for the pair.

Probably my best option.

I just sold my original '68 panels and have ordered the RS panels (due to me this week) for the early cars. Jace's panels in teh above are the RS America versions that came on the 1993 RS Americas.

We will have very similar 912's, I took mine to bare metal and cut out and replaced any bad metal and she should be Ossi Blue by the end of the week or first of next.

Here is the door panel I'm thinking of getting; after going back and fourth I like the map pocket. It breaks up the "plain" door look.

When you get yours installed throw up a photo if you don't mind.

Will do. I went with these as I like the older style. They come with screws for attaching, but I have seen some that used velcro for a cleaner look (no crew heads). Still not sure which direction I will go.

Wow......Jim, I had no idea those were available.

What's sad is I just bought a lot of parts from SM and didn't even check to see if they carried repo's.

Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention.
