Rust in turn signal housing

I went to replace the turn signal lenses front and back on my 67 today and found that left front has some rust not all gone but enough to make me concerned. There is a small amount on the right side and I am concerned. What have any of you done any suggestions? Can you purchase these housings or must I
put on a new fender if it is far to gone I dont think so but I need to know my options.

if its the curved part that meets the bumper where the seal fits? any good sheet metal shop can fab up a duplicate if you have parts of the old one, they are just spot welded into place. I had to replace one front one and fabbed it up myself, not too hard because you never see it anyhow.

While you're in there make sure to check out the headlight buckets, they are also very prone to rust and may also be affected. Don't ask how I know.

What was the cost of the new lenses, I'm thinking of replacing mine?
Where did you get them?
re the rust, I agree with Craig, just weld in some new metal, those guards aren't cheap!

I picked up mine from strasse and they were 2@74.95 front american and 2@44.95 for euro rears. I am actually removing the lenses from the 67 today and will post another question.

I'm still working on my '67 Targa - probably going way, way overboard on the pans, but hey, it's my car

I have the front lenses off mine now too. They look o.k. Someone painted them with grey primer at some point or another.

One thing you may want to check/fix: there is a rubber drain tube in the lense housing area. If it's gone, or if it's clogged or not draining properly, our nemisis, evil rust shows it's ugly face.

So...prior to re-assembly, make sure you have proper draining!

Errata: I've been using Naval Jelly (3) to remove rust. They also have a product called, tada...Navel Jelly (1). It's basically a petroleum product in a aerosol can. Probably like ATF fluid. Anyway, you spray it in the nooks and cracks and it adds rust protection. I'm spraying it in ALL body holes, nooks, and crannys that I find.
