Leaking transmission gear oil/ 912E??

Thought it was coming from driver side at the output seal on differential so we replaced both driver and passenger side seals and still leaking from same spot. Seems to be still coming from somewhere on driver side maybe above differentials and leaking on axles and throwing oil everywhere.. Maybe vent on top?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

In the 912E section- a lotta people work on their own cars, and perhaps you'll get an answer there. Haven't had this problem with mine (yet!) so can't venture a guess...R/Dave L.

It would only leak out the vent if you overfilled it. And there's not a whole lot else there for it to leak out of unless it's leaking out of the side cover, but again, that should generally be above the fill line. The fill level on that box is barely as high as the axle. There really shouldn't be oil inside of the gearbox that's high enough to drip down onto the axle. You sure your engine isn't leaking?

Thanks guys for your responses.. To give you an update and to answer your question Matt.
1. Didn't overfill transmission
2. I'm sure its not engine oil

We cleaned everything up and put it back on the lift. Pretty sure the bearings are shot by the grinding sound coming from the Trans causing the output differential seal to be flattened out. Its definitely coming from the driver side output differential seal so i ordered a seal kit and two new bearings. Hope this takes care of the problem. Crossinfg my fingers!!
