912 and ME restoration trick
When I restored my 67 912 coupe I completely lined the interior floorboards ,behind & under seats, rear deck all interior space including door interiors with a foil backed rubber insulation, with adhesive on the rubber side. This is under the new tan leather, carpet and head liner .
Wow what a difference. No more extra noise except the sound of the engine running. Refuse so far to install radio I really enjoy the engine . Thats if I e3ver recieve my fuel pump kit . Seeya on the road Mike ![]() |

I am in the process of putting Dynamat on my floor boards and the rear deck area it makes an incredible difference and is thin enough not to get in the way of anything. I was able to get three 36x54 sheets for $60 which is what it cost my friend who owns a stereo place. It is real easy to install just remove the old insulation and while your at it look for rust mine had surface rust which I used a wire wheel to remove take care of it now. You might want to use POR 15 a great rust killer. I used it on my Triumph and it stopped rust from progressing and it looks great. I also used it on my 67 912. Then cut the dynamat to shape and used a seam roller to get it to take the shape of the floor. Looks great and also looks like the floor. So far I have done the floors and took her for a ride what a difference.
