Anyone ever put a 915 tranny in a SWB 912?

I am seeking help from anyone who has seen or done this swap before. SWB 912 915 transaxle in place of the 901 that they came with...

You could try "JordanJames" if he's still around? Although he also changed his car to a LWB when he did the V8 & 915 swap and has since sold the car...

Hello

Trany will bolt up.

The front cone is close to the hump between the seats so you have to clear that area with a hammer or shim the tranycarrier around 1/4" so the trany sits lower.

Other point is the drive shaft setup.
You can manage to mix late 6 bolt ( sportomatic ) drive shafts onto your old outher cv joints.

Hello

You are a hammersmith ?

Basically the problem is to find matching CV joints.

The pre 78 915 tranys have the 462 bolt pattern using 4 M10 hex screws the later units have the 6 bolt pattern ( using M8 screws ) like yor old trany uses too. Now those CV joints are a that bigger in diameter.....

But the 925 ( Sportomatic ) used the smaller CV´s in the first years ( I think 74-77 )

Matching the rifght parts is the trick.
