Mystery (to me) Bracket?
Any idea what this could be for? It's in our '68 912 Targa engine bay. 911 or VW Motor mount or trailer hitch? The brackets are 13" in length and @ 14" off ground.

What kind of engine came out there? These motor mounts don't look original to me. Could the brackets have been used as muffler support? Never seen this before.

They aren't factory or for any 912 related stock product. Lop 'em off.
