Brake drum doesn't fit
 

Hello,
I'm installing the driver side rear brake rotor after new shoes was installed. I don't understand why the rotor doesn't go all the way through...

The pics show the new shoes installed, the rotor goes in, last photo show about 1/4" left that the rotor doesn't go in. I look over my brake shoes installation and everything look fine.

Anyone with similar problems please share your experience.

Looks like they are going on till they hit the point of where the studs aren't threaded. Might try cleaning off the non-threaded portion of the stud and then use a rubber mallet to tap them on. They are reasonably tight fitting around the studs so a little tappy-tap wouldn't suprise me.

I will check around the unthreaded portion of the stud and clean up.. maybe file it a little and try to refit the rotor. Will let you know.

Hi Bao

I know the brake shoes just float with the spring holding them in place. The shoes may need to pulled away form the back plate the pads my just be cocked. The ebrake cable may need to be adjusted that's a lot of pad on those shoes. I notice the adjuster is fully seated.

Hello Jerry,
I decided to sand the shoes with 100 grits s.p. and managed to get the rotor fit flush nicely.

Even though the rotor is not seated correctly it turns very tight, i think another session of sanding will get the rotor to turn comfortable.
