OK..So I am definately a newbie to the Porsche scene. I have always wanted one and last week got the chance to buy one off of eBay. It's a 69 912/5. I knew going in it would need some underside sheetmetal work. The obvious and seems to be obligatory front pan/tank support. Tonight i was crawling around underneath and found that the "rear longitudals??" were in pretty poor shape as well. Anyone have any experience with the longitudals? I am ok with a welder and was considering taking all this on myself over the summer. Are there any good books out there on chassis panel replacement / welding? Lot's of questions so thanks in advance...
P.S. I have read most of the arcticles on the board on floorpans etc...great info!! |

Rear longitudinals...if you are talking about the torsion bar area, that's bad news. You have any pictures to post?
