The EGR light is switched on.
Is this switched on because there is a problem or after an amount of miles. In this case, is there a reset button somewhere ? Thanks

It's got to be a mileage turn-on, as I've been through the EGR system & there are no sensors in the system (or oxygen sens) that could trigger a light. I'm not sure how to reset it, as mine had no EGR light (!).

I double checked my manual & the EGR is hooked up to the mileage counter so, like most cars, it's just a maintenance reminder. Choices are: 1. Have Porsche dealer reset for $$; 2. Pull the bulb, or 3. Use home-fashioned reset tool shown below:

I'm sure if this will help, but on late 70's vw buses the EGR light is reset by pushing a little white button on a black box that is connected in-line with the speedo cable.
You might want to follow the speedo cable to see if your 912e has a similiar black box. Just something to check...
