Could you help me on a price for a 912 engine? I have an 912 engine that I took out of my Porsche about 5 years ago because the body had rusted. It has been stored in my garage under a tarp since then. It has exactly 7 miles on it. The distance from the shop where it had just been rebuilt to my home. Then I got injured pretty seriously and couldn't drive it at all until I had it removed. I was going to put it up for sale and don't know what something like that is worth. Could you give me a range on it? Thanks ... |

Range $2500 to $7000. How did you put it up? Is there documentation to what was done. Was the work done at a reputable shop? How complete is it? What year case? Are you willing to ship it? Some details can help narrow the range. Might be higher, might be lower? |

Do you recall the rebuild specifics? Big bore or standard? Pictures are helpful too. If it can't be run before buying, then most would consider it a non runner and price it accordingly. |

Hi, You know I am not a mechanic. It was done by a mechanic named ART STANGE Jr in campbell, ca. He did a great job and is well known. It is just a standard engine, stock, complete. No problems at all in the 7 miles I drove it. ; '> It has not been started in at least 5 years but it literally has NO MILES on it. It sat until I pulled it out and stored in under a tarp in my garage on the concrete under a shelf totally dry. It has all the carbs. I guess I can take some pictures. Don't know what they will show. I guess I could get a mechanic to come up and try and start it. Hopefully it will start. |

Terry I sent you an email via Craigslist. What year is the engine? Dean |

Hello, it is a 1968. I called the shop in Sunnyvale. Denny, the guy who did the work is now a supervisor at another shop. The new owner said I should have someone take the engine and transmission apart, organize the components and sell them online because they are basically new and I would make twice the money. I would love that but it might be too much of a hassle plus I have been getting flooded with emails from Craigslist. I think I will take some pictures like I said above land put them up here. You all know what you are doing, I don't. |
