New Rebuild--No Sparky!

Ok-
The newly rebuilt engine is in. Fuel is hooked up, new battery and all the wires (I belive) but I can't get the car to light up. I've got all new coil, wires, points, plugs, cap, rotor, distributor--I believe I set the timing good...but all the tests I've done show no sparkage---no spark from coil wire when removed, no light from test light when inserted in #1 of cap, no spark between points when cap is off and turing over engine by pulley wheel.

Fuel is in the fuel line (clear filter shows fuel in it)... and the new battery turns the engine over quite nice. 3 wires hooked to the generator, one wire from the distributor (condensor)to the RH side of the coil, one wire to the oil temp and one to the pressure sensor...

Any ideas what I'm missing?

Thanks-

Dont forget the motor ground

Check the tach ground. The tach is the ground for the coil. I just spent a week chasing a non-start problem on an Austin Healey Sprite for this reason. Also check the chassis ground strap.

EFRAIN-
I will check that out. Thanks.

Brett & Efraim-
Thanks for the tips. Got my mind thinking about the connections at the coil--or lack of I should say. Once the + & - were correctly installed, and the timing adjusted, I fired it up and made it to the gas station and back. A little hesitation though--think it could use a good fine tunining (carbs, linkage, etc.)

Thanks again-
