Recliners at the lit show

I will have some recliners in aluminum, polished and anodized. Steel and chromed, and 1 black steel recliner, drivers side for the early recaro sport seat on display at the lit show and maybe at the Phoenix swap.
I'm also looking into a DIY kit at a much reduced price. I haven't come up with a number yet. And I know I'll do it in steel as it can be chromed or painted black in wrinkle paint. I'm still mixed on doing them in aluminum for a DIY kit. I'm open to feedback. They would come with the carrage bolts, washers, and nuts. You would supply the mounting hardware and recliner pins. I'll list my sources for those on my site. The site gets about a 100 visits a day.
These give me the piece of mind that my seatback will stay where I put it. Set it and forget it.
Chris

The top picture is of a steel set I worked on today. They are now with the buffer, then they get chromed.
The bottom picture is of a aluminum recliner before it was repolished and sent off for anodizing http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1360974043.jpg

Hi Chris, a real nice job! Not only because I like to work with aluminum myself, I would prefer the aluminum version. It's a great material. Although it wil not give an original factory look, a polished and anodized version will give the seats a nice accent. Not to forget the matching with the later swb anodized aluminum trim and a set of original finished Fuchs wheels.

Chroming aluminum is not always a succes. I guess that depends on the quality of aluminum you use. The softer qualities seem to give problems.

I'm sure a kit for swb 911/912 drivers will be a success, as well in the US as here in Europe.

Otto,
I should have my aluminum recliners back from the anodizer late this week or early next. I'll post them then. For those who don't mind doing the edges, countersinking the holes, and polishing before the aluminum ones get anodized or the steel ones get chromed, the DIY kit will be far less expensive. Labor, polishing, anodizing, and or chroming is what causes the price to go up. For the 72 and 73 folks with the black wrinkle finish it's even easier. My little grinder polisher is fine if I'm finishing a set for myself but for commercial orders I sub to a professional polisher. For anodizing I have to go out of state and pay shipping each way. Shipping is 50% of my anodizing costs.
Otto, thanks for the kind words.
Chris

Brite dip anodized

These came back about the same as the aluminum trim on my door next to the window on my 67 SWB car. I'll have chromed steel to show on Monday, and black steel on Tuesday.

I have always liked stainless steel bit more than aluminum, can't say why. May be because whenever I have bought it, it has worked satisfactorily for me. If needed I'll go for last black one for sure.

I think that black in wrinkle paint look much more pretty. And I will add
one more recliner website https://thebestreclinersreviews.com/. Good reviews

What was the price on these?

That silver color recliner look much beautiful. I also bought a recliner last month after checking lots of reviews online and then found it here.

Have any fitment issues getting one of those chairs in the car?

My current seat setup, a couple steering wheel looks, and a couple customer seats. And here are the recliners that are in my car now.
