lengthy warm up...
For the last few weeks, every time I start up I can't get the rpm's above 1200-1500 for the first five minutes. Once it warms up and I rev above 2000, it's fine from then on. I can floor the accel. and still get nothing for that first few minutes though, very odd...
it's a '69, weber carbs, vacuum advance...any thoughts/ideas/solutions would most gratefully appreciated as always... Dale |

sounds like it missing on a cylinder or two, and you only have (4), until it warms up, check the plugs? points? wires? etc.

Hello Dale
First the good news, you can reproduce the trouble to see if you fix it. The bad, I have a couple idea's. 1. maybe something with vac. advance when cold. Try unhooking and pluggen when warmed up to see if you can reproduce when warm. 2. Intake metal(carb plate too) is expanding and closing a small leak GoodLuck Brett |

craig- if i were missing on cylinders when cold, would that prevent the remaining ones from revving? why would they miss only when cold?
brett-i'm going to try the vacuum disconnect tonight when it's hot, i have never had that much confidence in that system anyway, and will most likely change in the future...i am also going to read through the weber tech manual over the weekend and see if i have inadvertently moved an adjustment screw or something when re-installing the engine... |
