how do you separate your exhaust from the heaterboxes?

Adam,

I guess you're pointing at the joint of the pipes. There will be some cement-like goop between them to seal them. If the clamps are removed, you could try to carefully spread the "fingers" from the outer pipe (exhaust). Then, patience, heat and some force will do the job. If that doesn't work, some cutting will be needed to enable the outer pipe to be spreaded a bit more. Of course for reassembling you need to do some welding to close the gap. I wouldn't simply cut the joints, because alignment of the parts to be welded will be much more difficult compared to closing a cut along the pipe.

Good luck,

Otto
