Question Rear Spring Plate Camber & Toe-In Bolts

If the two eccentric bolts on each rear spring plate control the camber and toe-in why are they always shown being removed? Don't they just fit into slotted holes? Can I leave them in place while I replace the rear spring plate bushings so I don't need to have an alignment done afterwards?? Just remove the other two standard bolts holding the plates together?

Thanks,
Ron D

They have to be removed also. It helps to mark these before removal in order to get them back fairly close to where they were before, but you still have to check the alignment. It helps to place a small bottle jack under the swing arm to adjust the arm height-makes removal of these a lot easier & may avoid stripping the threads. Keep in mind that lowering the car will result in the following: toe-in more negative
more negative camber
less caster
