Advice sought on children's safety seats
Hello all: I'm new to the world of 912s, and very happy to be here! I've recently bought a 1966 912 Coupe from the Bay Area, and had my retired father drive it to Virginia (it made it with no problems at all! I wish I could have made that drive!).
My conundrum is this: One of the conditions for my wife "approving" of the purchase was that I could get children's safety seats in the rear so that we could all enjoy the car (I of course, wanted this as well). I remember riding in the back of my father's '72 911T and I knew that the rear seats were small, but I told my wife, no problem, we can find car seats that fit. However, our current seats (Britax) do not fit, and cannot be used with lap-belts. Anyone out there have experience placing/finding car seats for the rear of your 912? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Brandon Haller Springfield, VA 1966 912 Coupe, Bahama Yellow |

Brandon:
Depending on the age of the child and the fed & state laws the child must ride facing to the back if less than one year old. After one year old he faces the front. This is an Illinois requirement may be the same in VA. Get a seat that can be used in either position. Also the childs seat must go in the back seat not the front seat. Suggest you check the laws. Mayby DOT has rules on the net. Good luck, Ron

After I posted this on the 911 forum, I realized that there has probably been a ton of stuff posted on this subject before.....there has been, the archives have been helpful.
