Trailing arm

Anyone know why I can't get the front of the hub off. The back slid right out.
Also. The rubber slid right out of the top of the trailing arm. I know they are pressed in but how does the metal Sleeve come out so I can have new bushing pressed in.

Thanks again this sight has been the greatest.

They're sacrificial (you have to destroy them to get them out.) There are several methods, but I've used a dremmel with a cutting wheel to cut some relief slots in them and then pry/tap them out.

Spencer,

The best way is to use a press from behind, but standard tools could also do the job. Clamp the trailing arm in a vice and use two solid pry bars under either side of the hub/stub axle. With some force on the pry bars it should pop out.

The bearing will be your next problem. That will be a bit more difficult. Make a puller of some steel bushes/rings and threaded rod to get it out. As so often, applying heat will help.

Do a "rear wheel bearing" search here on the board in the 911 section and you will find several nice solutions.

I forgot in to specify in my comment that it applied to part 2 of your original post - rear trailing arm bushings.
