Timing

Just double checking,I have the 022(no-vac) stock distributor, and weber 40 IDF's.Should timing ,with a light be at 3 BTDC at 700/800 rpms to be the most efficient?

Thanks,SteveSmileWavy

timing ?

I'm not familar with the .022 dist. but the .050's are timed at 4 to 5 degrees BTDC, my thinking would be 3 degrees BTDC as you mention would be safe. The problem here is overheating, wrong timing can overheat air cooled engines to the point they fry a piston, so watch your heat guage and stay out of the red zone.
Good luck,
Chas.
