Porsche 911/912 horn too sensitive - short contact purchased from pelican

Recently I had a posting about replacing my hockey puck horn on my Porsche 912. I did so and also purchased a short contact from pelican. I twisted it on and everything works. However I've come to discover it is much too sensitive. When I make turns especially something is contacting as the horn goes off. What's strange to me is the leather button does t even press in that much to begin with so any hints ideas on how to get this to work properly Also the hockey puck has a little bit of play forward and back so it doesn't lock stationary. I also don't exactly see what metal the contact part contacts with as I said the leather doesn't really depress that much

Any input what be extremely helpful.

Thanks !
Max

Did you replace the rubber insulator too?
they harden up and are no longer pliable.
