Solex 40PII-4 Accelerating pump nozzle clog..

Hello everyone,

I'm getting no fuel squirting out of the accelerating pump nozzles on one of my carburetor.

After removing the top cover to get to the A.P. nozzles. I cleaned both nozzles with carb cleaner.

One of the nozzle (B), I can hear rattling ball inside the lower tube. The other nozzle (A) is total opposite, completely no rattling sound at all...somehow nozzle A is clogged.

I wonder if there's a fix for nozzle A? Can the lower tube be removed to get inside and clean it out?

Thanks,

The top is pressed in so it can be removed but I would not do that. A half hour in a ultrasonic bath and then blow some brake cleaner through it.

I just had this problem and shot carb cleaner into both sides until I had good flow. the ball was stuck on mine. I started at the top then shot in from bottom short bursts. Did it a couple of times. The ball came loose and is working fine now.

Hope this works for you as it did me.
Spencer.

Thanks for reply,

I asked Harry Bieker and was able fix it very easily.

Basically you grab with a plier .. light pressure about 1/8 from the bottom and twist out the tube. Very simple.
There, a 4mm ball was removed and i cleaned all the opening with thin wire from a guitar and with carb cleaner and inside the tube.

I put the carburetor back together and getting beautiful flow through all 4 nozzles.
