1969 Porsche-"Zusatzheizung"

Hello guys,
How many of you guys heard of "Zusatzheizung"? Me either until I was trying to figure out my fresh air fan is not working. It appears that Zusatzheizung is auxiliary heating and was used on early cars.

Can anybody explain how this works & where this would be located on the car?

Assuming the '69 is the same as a '68, the fresh air blower is located in the smugglers box. An option was a gas fired heater which replaced the air blower in the smugglers box. Both were made by Webasto. You can search for Porsche Webasto Gas Heater.
