Front turn signal box - can it be rebuilt?

Hello friends - perhaps you have some suggestions. I want to rebuild the right front turn signal box. The inner half was badly repaired in the past - now the area has been cleaned (attached photo) - so to speak. If anyone have tried to rebuild this box please comment on - and supply with some photos :)

Yes Peter - I know this spare part and its price
Wonder if a regular rebuild is a possible alternative(?)

I am in the process of restoring a 68 SWT that has rust. When looking at the complexities of a structure to be replaced, the 'cost' of fabrication time needs to be weighed out against the financial cost of what's available on the market. The structure of the turn signal box is quite complex for the simple structure that it is. If one is not worried about it looking 'authentic', it is quite easy to cobble a box together (especially if one has access to a spot welder). It is another matter to 'shape' an authentic looking box by hand out of the proper thickness sheet meal.

If cost/authenticity is a concern, a 'WTB' ad for a turn signal box from a trashed fender may be in order. If the intricacies of metal working something from scratch is a concern, check out this link: Irish Green Coupe Restoration, especially in the latter pages.
