Distributor clamp
While testing the fit of my new distributor cap before unplugging any wires on the old cap I noticed that the distributor moved (rotated) slightly. I reset the timing and tightened the distributor clamp as tight as I could but I don't think I trust it. The clamp is a flimsy stamped part . I would like to replace the clamp with a stronger one but can't locate one for an 050 that is any better than the one I have.
The only fix I can think of would be to remove some metal between the clamp ears so the bolt can compress it more and tighter. Any suggestions?? Thanks, Ron
