Distributor clamp

While testing the fit of my new distributor cap before unplugging any wires on the old cap I noticed that the distributor moved (rotated) slightly. I reset the timing and tightened the distributor clamp as tight as I could but I don't think I trust it. The clamp is a flimsy stamped part . I would like to replace the clamp with a stronger one but can't locate one for an 050 that is any better than the one I have.

The only fix I can think of would be to remove some metal between the clamp ears so the bolt can compress it more and tighter.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Ron

Hey Ron

Just remove some metal. No cost, just time

GoodLuck
