help.....

today started great, got the call from my body shop and he is ready for my 912, stripping it down and doing a complete repaint.

started the car and there was a clicking sound at the back left corner of the car, did not sound like an engine noise, after about 30-40 seconds it smoothed out and went away. car was running great when i noticed it seemed to lose power, down shift and it seemed to drive fine, no noise etc. got off the interstate where i was rolling at 60-65mph and when i was slowing down i clearly felt it losing power, pulled into a gas station and the car went dead. no smoke, no noise,no leakes, etc.

i tried to start it and there was dead silence, not even a click, any ideas

thanks in advance

Well, if the starter motor doesn't tunr over, at least that's something tangible.

Is anything else electrical working ? (lights, horn etc)

I'm not familiar enough to know of the top of my head what group of electrical accessories are "fused" together, but if the starter motor is not turning, or even reacting to the ignition key, you need to check :

- battery (what Volts has it still got left ? how old is it ? is the car used regularly ?)

- battery connection cleanliness and tightness.

Check any blown fuses on the board, obviously.

I can't explain why you felt loss of power in view of these symptoms, but before assessing whether you have a fuel issue or spark issue that might hinder performance you need to get the engine turning over anyway.

If you're at a gas station they should have a voltmeter and cables you could borrow ? I'm posting this super late, you've probably sortied it out by now
