Ok Guys... does this mean NOBODY knows??? Lets help him out. Sounds like a good trivia question for one of you old timers who's done it all!

Well I’m not old or anything even close to an expert but the axel nut on my 69 is 30MM.

Rotssta86, where are you on northern VA? There are a few of us pushroders in the area that get together once in a while to trade secrets and the like, you are welcome to join in if you want. There is also a group that sets up “fun runs” during the year. We go on drives in the Blue Ridge foothills. All kinds of P cars from 66 to 02 and a good days drive each time.

Porsche Crest Nuts and jets

Green's right 30mm;

Green if your out there can you tell me why you chose to run size 50 idle jets in your 912's Webers?, I read it in Duanes new book. I thought the baseline was 55. Would 50 lend to less load up with a cold engine? I have seen reports of cars running 60's what reaction would that get?
Your car sure gets around....
Thanks,
Chas. 69/912

Chas. 50s just worked. 55 ran a little rich with the mains I use at the track. I think that 55 would work just fine as well. 60s were way over when I tried them when the motor was fresh but I have found that as the motor "seasoned"past 10000 miles it tended to richen up and I ajusted the jets acordingly. The car spends little time at idle so I set it up for track where it is W.O.T. most of the time. I also have a set of idles that are slightly drilled to about 53 that I use in the colder weather. According to Tim B and others, different motors built to the same specs sometimes want slightly different jets. Go figure.

Rotissa. If you like send me an email and I will give you some phone #s to call when you need stuff or have questions. The 912/356 “Men In Plaid” network around here is the best. A phone call will start a chain reaction that almost always leads to what you are looking for and at the right price too. I have some suspension and electrical stuff and tend to buy and part out 912 motors
