... I HAVE A '67 912 OVER HERE IN THE UK (CALIFORNIAN IMPORT), I USE UNLEADED PETROL BUT THE ENGINE PINKS UNDER LOAD, IS THERE ANY CURE FOR THIS? ALL COMMENTS WELCOME.

I'd suggest premium fuel, if you're not doing it already. These leaded beasts prefer higher octaine.

now I am not suggesting we circumvent the tree huggers (some of my best friends like trees-use them during walks daily)..
here in the colonies stores sell an "off road use only" lead additive. every try a small shot of something like this? off road of course. If not available.. I could try to mail some to you. who knows, it might get thru ...says it reduces emmisions.. so it says anyway. chuck n tx (wife from eastbourne) 67 912 65 mgb v6 others of lesser class

cheers for the info, i think im going to try the higher octane fuel, though it is quite expensive over here, but that's still better than ruining a good engine, innit!
p.s. just on the off chance i dont know whether anywhere over there still supply the interior alu' strip along the dash board do they? |
