Restore or not ......1969 912
Just bought a 69 today. A one owner car, all paperwork, all original, been sitting in a garage the last 35 years. A sweet find! It runs but needs some tuning. I REALLY want to clean it up but another Porsche friend says "it's only original once" TRUE! Need some opinions on what I can do or should do to it while keeping its value. THANKS!

Why did you buy it? If for an investment maybe keeping it original if you find that person that wants a rusty car to call original. If you bought it to drive clean it up and drive it. To restore it you will spend what the car is worth to get it to restore quality. You have to make the decision. I decided to drive mine and I love every second I am in it.

Truly, an investment but will enjoy some driving time first. VERY LITTLE rust and not many miles. When enthusiasts want a project car, what do they want? THANKS AGAIN

The car has large areas of brown primer over some small surface rust spots. We have original wheels. The ones on it are dated 1971.

Car looks clean to me. I'd restore it now or put a 911 motor in it!
