horn repair on 912

I need to remove my horn cover on my 1968 912.............the horn honks when I turn the wheel!!!
I can't figure out how to remove the horn cover to go about fixing the horn button.'
The repair book shows a different steering wheel horn cover with instructions to push in and turn counter clockwise. There is nothing to push in and turning cc has no effect.
Anybody know what to do? I will take photo if needed.

Garage
Please post a photo. If you have a stock setup you either have have a "hockey puck" or a "batwing" setup but a photo will tell.

It must be what you called the "hockey puck".
I've tried pushing in and turning counter clockwise? Afraid I might bust something. There doesn't seem to be any affect of pushing in? or for that matter turning.....
