Sensor sence
Can someone please help my sanity this evening
Im a proud owner of a 1984 928 Im completely in need of your help if possible My sweetheart just decided not start ,,, not even a pop or whisper I Did indeed narrow it down to just a few electrical issues the fuel pump is fine , the distrbuter coil is fine the distributer gets absolutely no fire I tested the fuel injection plugs .. they have a constant 12 volts ... no pulse my issue presently is finding the exact location of the Crank sensor all fingers point towards the sensor going bad at first glance - I glance a lot ... hah Here is my most simple question I absolutely need to know where the crank sensor is located where is the crank sensor located exactly I do know where it is Not located and cannot find it at this point however ... I read an article with pictures and a bunch miss information it looked , tasted and smelled like it was the item .. but actually was some sort of test port and just hangin in the wind ...a big no go it sure looked like it coulda woulda shoulda been, tasted and smelled like it could be a crank sensor but theyre 100% wrong it smelled like the crank sensor .. but absolutely is not it the prize this sensor a rounded cylndrical item was located on top of the flywheel just down from the firewall it was very tough to get out but when I followed the plug end ( a round sort of plug in ) all my hopes ended this was some sort of test plug and absolutely came to a dead and not connected to anything deal it was attached to the drivers side valve cover and thats it I even googled up an article that had pics showing the same location described - obviously the guy was completely lost and now Im at completely confused they also described it to be behind a round plastic throttle pulley ... I have no pulley with that description nor can I see a crank sensor on top of the engine where is this lil rascal located any help would be awfully appreciated Im completely lost cheers Gents Lawrence from Sunny So Calhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1460782509.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1460782600.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1460782637.jpg |
