912 (or other air cooled experts) near Riverside CA?

Hello there. I'm interested in getting more oomph out of my 912, but I don't want to molest my numbers-matching 616, at least not much. I found a used Auto Craft 2.8 liter motor that's in Riverside, CA. I wonder if there is a kind soul in that area who knows what to look out for who would take a look at it for me. Please email me if you're able to help. Thanks very much.

I'm not familiar with Auto Craft. However, if it is a type one that have been built to 2.8lr. Then there will be inherited heating problems, especially in Southern California. You will probably need to add a front oil cooler, plus have sheet metal made to fill the interior engine compartments.

If you can find a copy of Duane Spencer's "The Complete Porsche Guide 912" It will show you how you can build a streetable fast 912 engine w/o changing the outward appearance of the case.
