In need of a Mechanic in Metro Detroit or South Florida

Hello all,
After a nearly 8 year restoration, my body shop guy calls me today saying that the car is near completion. (asked him to take his time, so no puns please)

The car:
1966 Sunroof 5-speed car

Paint, trim is done,
Need a recommendation for someone reputable that can get the carbs, valves, steering, brakes, suspension all back in working order.

Car has been restored in metro Detroit, but now I live in South Florida(Ft. Lauderdale)
So I am open to suggestions in either area

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello David,

I'm in Boca Raton, but use to live in Fort Lauderdale. I have 68 912, I don' t think you can find one mechanic that can performed all your needs. I restored my engine my self with the help of Walt Watson in California. I would highly recommend Harry Bieker for your Carbs. Mine was rebuilt by Mr. Bieker and is perfect. I must say, is very hard to find a fine porsche mechanic in South Florida. Good luck.

thank you for the reply. In my 4 years of living in South Florida,i have learned its tough to get anything done.right.the first time.or second or even third. I was referred to AUTO TECHNIC INC in Miami and MGM Racing in Pompano. I am going to check out the shops this week and will hopefully hear of some other options on this forum. cheers

KWM (Ken Wheeler Motorsports) in Boca seems like they can do most things. Saw a similar project in the process about 6 months ago when I stopped to gawk at the stuff they had going on. I don't know the results since I haven't stopped in a while.
You could give them a call.
