Porsche 912 1969

Hi , well here we go , I have changed the coil , plugs, ignition leads, new condenser , checked points gap, checked the timing , but still have a engine running very uneven and rocking about all over the place , but it does stop rocking when the revs are up high ,any help would be appreciated thanks , Andy ,

That takes care of the ignition part of your tune-up.

Did you check the Valves adjustment? That also goes with a tune-up. Then you can adjust the carbs.

Time for a compression test. Rough running at lower revs will frequently seem to smooth out with higher rpm which is really only masking the situation. Did you ever have this motor running right?

distributer may be out 180 degrees ..... number 1 spark plug wire switched with number 2 wire ...etc.

Porsche 912

I have now done a dry compression test and here's the result , 170 psi , 150 psi, 130 psi, 160 psi , I'm hoping these results are ok , I have also taken off the carb and I'm looking at when the fuel gets cut off as the float rises, I'm wondering if this needs adjusting so the float goes higher befor cutting off the fuel , this could be my problem if no fuels getting through to the Pistons ,
