Thermostat Bellows

I got all my engine sheetmetal painted and was baking it because its all hi temp paint and forgot to remove the thermostat bellows from the doghouse, well at 450 degrees its now about 10 inchs long, (dont we all wish) and shot, this is used to open them little flappers in the engine compartment to help warm it up. Do I really need it? Those flappers always seemed to close rather quickly anyhow. If you think I need it does anyone have one?
