Can you tell me what this is?

I'm attempting to import my sister-in-laws 912 from Portugal and I'm hoping someone can tell me something about this car by the vin and motor numbers. I think the car is a 1969 Targa so here goes:
VIN: 129010163
Motor: 4093762

I thought this car had 15" wheels but I have a copy of a registration indicating the pneumatics are 185R14?

According to http://www.912registry.org/restore/vin.htm
it is indeed a 1969 model year Targa, probably made in the fourth quarter of 1968.

Not sure what the engine number will tell you, although I guess you could get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche to tell you if it's the original engine or not.

Thanks, I'm new to this 'Porsche' stuff and have only bought two books, kind of limited where I am. How do you go about a Certificate of Authenticity?

George,

Certs of Authenticy are purchased from PCNA (Porsche Cars North America). I don't have the address info right in front of me but can post it later if someone doesn't beat me to it.

The 185/14 wheels were optional for the 69 912 as well as the 15" Fuchs.

I expect it to be atleast a month or two (unfortunately) before I get this baby to the states. Maybe I will have a digital camera by then!
