Can you tell me what this is?
I'm attempting to import my sister-in-laws 912 from Portugal and I'm hoping someone can tell me something about this car by the vin and motor numbers. I think the car is a 1969 Targa so here goes:
VIN: 129010163 Motor: 4093762 I thought this car had 15" wheels but I have a copy of a registration indicating the pneumatics are 185R14? |

According to http://www.912registry.org/restore/vin.htm
it is indeed a 1969 model year Targa, probably made in the fourth quarter of 1968. Not sure what the engine number will tell you, although I guess you could get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche to tell you if it's the original engine or not. hth James |

Thanks, I'm new to this 'Porsche' stuff and have only bought two books, kind of limited where I am. How do you go about a Certificate of Authenticity?

George,
Certs of Authenticy are purchased from PCNA (Porsche Cars North America). I don't have the address info right in front of me but can post it later if someone doesn't beat me to it. Craig |

The 185/14 wheels were optional for the 69 912 as well as the 15" Fuchs.

I expect it to be atleast a month or two (unfortunately) before I get this baby to the states. Maybe I will have a digital camera by then!
