What strut do I have on my 66 912

Finally got the strut out. I want to buy new ones how do I I'd them

what color?
Most are a weird gray/blue which you'll see after you dig through the accumulated gunk
Usually Boge.
If they're orange, could be Koni.
Either way, they should be stamped somewhere on the body of the shock toward the bottom.

The insert that came out has no marking and no paint. The outer strut looks like
originally painted black

Look at the dust shield that goes over the strut: there should be a stamping that indicates Boge or Koni:

Jess,
Make sure to suction any liquid out of the strut housing before installing the new shocks. Some say to add a bit of oil to the bottom, others say no.

Thank you guys, you are right. I found the stamp, they are Koni's
