66 912 suspension paint
Hi everybody
I'm restoring my 66 and I've started with the front suspension. It's currently in pieces as I'm replacing new struts, rotors, bearing and bushings. I'm sanding all the 50 some years of grime and old paint off. What is the best paint to use, any recommendations. Thanks in advance |

Hi Jess.
I had all mine media blasted and powder coated. It wasn't too expensive, it's super durable and looks great. Good luck and have fun. Peter |

Thanks Peter for the idea. Back in the day I had some small motorcycle items powder
coated but never thought about having them powder coated. Some years ago I would buy aircraft paint. Very durable, it was called Polyurethane, great for suspension components but when I ask for it at paint stores they've never heard of it. |

+1 on powder coat. Two different options: for 'heavy' suspension parts, sand/media blasting can be used; for thin sheet metal, parts should be chemically stripped/rust neutralized. Industrial sand/media blasting can leave sheet metal warped and ruined.
