Question Dash Cover

Getting tired of looking at my cracked dash!

Has anybody installed one of those molded dash covers? How hard is it? Are they glued in place or??

Do you still have the instructions and can you send me a copy or post them?

Thanks,
Ron D

Hey Ron

I put one on my 68. Looks alot better to me. Very easy to install, pop's right on. Instructions were to add some glue of some sort, but I havn't, to cut the cover for the middle vent!! Not that it made any difference with glue.

GoodLuck

Morrie:
I brightened up my dash!

Went to my local shoemaker and bought a spray can of black shoe dye for vinyl and leather. Masked the dash with tape and newspaper and sprayed it. Turned out OK except for the crack that I tried to fill, it is still noticable. But the dash looks like new.

The cover for the 69 and up. Yes, Its not 100% right but it works for me. My thinking was if I didnt like it, I would send it back. I like it. The cover doesnt fit the vents just right. If it warms up some, you want me to send some pictures of the cover on my 68 ?

that would be great (monish@ix.netcom.com). I don't care about that center vent/speaker thing because i dont use that anyway. Give me more details too brett! (can you sense the excitement). I don't care about originality because i am so upsidedown $$-wise in this car I could never sell it anyway!

The cover came from PerformanceProducts. Had some 25% one time deal and very easy to return if I didnt like it.

Ron, the PO installed the AMP meter. ITs not installed right. It only shows current Im pulling(using) and NOT the current charging the battery. Project 10234

Any tips on installing the plastic cover? I bought one some time ago and have since lost the directions and adhesive that came with it. Seems to me pressure on the cap would be necessary as the adhesive sets. Is this the case? Also, what do you think I should use for adhesive?

Thanks!
