I keep seeing images of this car pop up. Its on Dave Hillman's site
http://www.hillmanimages.com/912/index.html What a great car and a good source of inspiration to me! I'd love to see the article in the magazine? I don't know if I can get a copy in London. I guess R stands for Racing! |

Isn't there a 912 owner that put a wankel rotary engine in? I believe he refers to his car as a 912R where the 'R' stands for rotary.
I stole this from the outlaw section in 912registry.org... From: Todd R. Iorio; todd@tradertodds.com; I've a '68 912R...for which most of you would probably shoot me as the R stands for Rotary, as in Mazda. Sorry And for those still scoffing at the Wankel powered Porsche, I'll see you on the track!Keep smiling! Todd todd@tradertodds.com -Mark

I've seen John's car up close - Parts Obsolete did a great job with it. Very clean, lots of very neat details. I'd like to give it a shot up at Sears Point, but I don't think that will ever happen.

I saw that car at the Portland Historics last Summer. Checked it out closely in the paddocks. Very nice. Had a good talk with the owner too. He's a good man.
Gary and Rod (and the rest of the family) hold a campout every year at Parts Obsolete. Great way to spend a weekend and there's history, parts and projects galore! Parts Obsolete moved from Calif. to a 50 acre ranch in Oregon and they continue to expand. John is meticulous in his maintenance of his 912R. Last August at a PCA concours we had 5-912's entered, including Johns 912R and we all took home trophy's.
He trailered it to the Rendezvous in Solvang so all the more reason for folks to attend this year. C |

Hey Chikybok, I've searched everywhere in London and can't find Excellence anywhere...... unless you know of any specialist magazine shops or get a yearly subscription - I don't think it's going to happen

Barnes and Noble here in Austin doesn't carry Excellence or "9"
I feel your pain. Morrie

Apparently "Grassroots" is another magazine from across the pond worth checking out. From what I've seen it seems to have some good articles.

Hi Deeks
I'm going to check a mag place in London at the weekend, Does loads of car import mags (or so I've been told). If I find it, I'll get two! If not... Can anybody scan the pages and post up? I know copyright could be an issue, but its just spreading the 'good word'! |

Sounds like a plan Chickybok!!
Cheers. You don't by any chance live in Putney and drive a red 912 ?? They're not exactly a common car, so you never know ?

Well if you can't find them over there perhaps someone might be willing to make a run to the local book store and send you a few copies.

I'm a white 66 - Camden town. Its a North London patrol car! I've seen a few Reds kicking around - mainly 68s I'm running the 912 spotters guide to London! As for Craign's idea- Maybe we could a swap with some London/UK only goods? Now what could that be? David (aka Chickybok) |

Dave (aka chickybock)
E-mail me off line at p912s@pacbell.net so we can work out some details like how many copies, postal address and what you got in the UK that might be of unique interest to a 912er. Craig |
