transmission seals
I am trying to replace the seals and gaskets on a 901 transmission for a '67 Targa. I have removed the cv joints but have been unable to remove the axle that goes into the transmission housing. It looks like it unscrews but I have tried that and have not been able to remove it. I have also tried to use a gear puller but it doesn't budge. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

yours should be like my 902 you may have caps covering the streach bolts in your universal joint flanges, just pry them out and remove the bolts. I would only remove one at a time since these bolts have a small tit that holds the spider gearshaft in place, these bolts should also be replaced, about 10 bucks each from porsche. The flange should slide rite out then you can replace the seal.
