Newbie here, starting issue
 
Bought a 76 914 2.0 fuel injected. Car sat for several years. Just replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor, new battery, and cylinder head temp sensor. The car has started only 3 or 4 times, only when depressing the accelerator fully.

Now, the car will not start. Cold start valve has fuel sweating from the fitting. By the way, I tested the CSV, showing almost 5 ohms.

Got a sweet deal, got a 73 911 2.4 cis engine with the car.:D

First, I would suggest removing the fuel line from the CSV. It should only be opening while the starter is cranking, and only when the engine is below ~32F or 40F, depending on which source you believe. You can cap the fitting that the fuel line comes from with an appropriate bolt, or put a bolt and clamps on the end that used to plug into the CSV. Or you can plumb a fuel pressure gauge into that line, which is what I did. Handy to have a reference available any time I want to look....

I would not be as quick as Dmitry seems to be to blame the ignition switch, though it certainly is one of many possible causes.

A first check would be to inspect all hoses and wires, making sure that nothing leaks and everything is not brittle, the connections are solid, and that it all connects to the right places. The various components can then be tested to make sure the values appear to be reasonable. The website at http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders has collected pretty much everything that is currently known about D-Jetronic EFI, and is an excellent reference.

Maybe a few basic checks should be done first?

Does the fuel pump run when you turn on the key? Do you have fuel pressure?
Do you have spark at all cylinders? Are the spark plug wires attached correctly?
Ignition timing when cranking the engine over?
