Checking the crank...
I bought a crank that was advertised as STD/STD from a private party. I measured the main journals just with a set of calipers and they show Nos. 1,2,and 3 to be 2.35". This seems to be cut to me since the book specs around 2.36". Am I missing something? I want to make sure I'm not making a dumb mistake before I try to return it. Thanks!

Well, that's .010. So, it's prpbably been ground once. That's no problem if it is good and ready to be polished. Even -.020 isn't bad, IMHO.

Yea, the seller contacted me and I think he made an honest mistake. I got a really good deal on it so I don't think I'll lose any money from the deal. I am trying to find a true STD/STD crank but if I end up align-boring I'll need a different set of bearings anyway. My faith in the T-4 community remains!
