Stock Header Question 1.7L -> 2.0L
 

Hi guys,

I have two 914-4 motors for a project 914, and want to know if I can swap the SSI type headers from the 1.7L motor, to the 2.0L motor without any issues.

You can swap the whole exhaust as a unit. The heat exchangers, muffler, and muffler hanger need to be of the same type; the 1.7 and 2.0 versions of each are different from each other and are only compatible with their own type.

You probably won't lose much if any power to the exhaust, as the 1.7 SSIs have the same diameter as the 2.0 versions. At least, that is what I have been told. I haven't measured them myself.
