o-rings for calipers
Are the O-Rings for splittting the calipers available from Peilican? I didn't see them listed. If they aren't are there any good sources for these?
Also do both frotn and rear require o-rings when splittting the calipers?

Jeff, we rebuilt Clays this weekend, found out that you do not really have to split them for a rebuild, splitting them just makes cleaning up the bore a lot easier. I got his rebuild kits from PP and the rear kit comes with the o ring but the front did not.

Jeff,
I like to split the calipers when rebuilding so that I can clean and polish the pistons and hone out the cylinders. I have found that it isn't really neccessary to replace the o-rings. You can just twist them inside out and reinstall them in their groves. It's kinda tricky but it works. Phil |

Hi Jeff,
Yes, these are available from Pelican. Check my posts here: 914-6 Factory Rear Brakes and pictures here: Caliper painting At $1.08 each ... I'd call it cheap insurance. Best, Barry '97 Supercharged XJR '89 XJ6 '81 RX-7 '73 914 FI 2.0 Liter '71 & '74 TR-6 '68 XKE FHC '65 Catalina |
