GT flares and spacers

Ok so for all you guys that did put the GT Flares on your 914 how did you handle that extra space. i did a quick search but did not really find the info i was looking for. Right now i have access to both front and rear gt flares. I also have alloy wheels that i would like to keep and a front end 911 suspension for the 5-bolt conversion is out of the question. so here are my questions
1) what is the "norm" fix to fill the extra space after i add flares. besides the conversion... i can think of spacers or putting in normal studs and just using nuts?
2) what are the pro's and cons of each? saftey? offsets? allignment problems? wear problems?
thanks... i am trying to get an idea for my summer project thanks
eric

I use 3/4 inch on each side, front and rear. I use studs so there is no problem with trying to find longer bolts. Cornering seems to be much better after the spacers. Good luck.

Hi Eric - I picked up 5-bolt spacers for a reasonable price at Hershey last year, keep looking. (BTW, I don't need them.) My car was a four bolt drilled to five on all four wheels before I did the 911 conversion to the front. Yopu might want to consider that as wheel availability is much better, (how wide are the alloys you want to keep?) and in the end you'll may save money, and get better results than trying to use big spacers on four little wee bolts/studs. 8" wheels and 245mmwide tires fill the flares nicely without spacers.
